Katy Erin is a television writer, actor, filmmaker, and musical artist.
She was born and raised in a small town in central Texas, which perhaps contributed to her early passion for the art of escapism. After spending her formative years taking drama club and marching band much too seriously, she moved to Austin to study filmmaking at the University of Texas before graduating and relocating to Los Angeles.
She can be seen as Lara Elliot, AKA “The Girl in the Game,” throughout the first season of The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, where she has since joined the writers room for seasons two and three. She also stars in the indie feature Millennium Bugs, in which her performance was described in reviews as “raw, honest,” and “captivating.” Other on-screen credits include Shameless (Showtime) and Wisdom of the Crowd (CBS) - though she is perhaps best known for playing it-girl Edison in all three seasons of the hit LGBTQ comedy series Gal Pals.
As a writer, her growing list of accolades includes being honored as the Overall Winner of the Launchpad Feature Competition, a Winner of the WeScreenplay Shorts Contest, “Best of the Year” at the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Screenplay Festival of Toronto, “Best Screenplay” at OtherWorlds Austin, and many others. As a filmmaker, her short films have screened in various renown queer, comedy, and genre film festivals worldwide, such as aGLIFF, Etheria, Boston SciFi, Out On Film, and more. Her years of television experience include assisting in the development and production of shows for CBS, SyFy, The CW, Netflix, and Disney.
Monster marks her first release as a musical artist, establishing herself as an upcoming voice in indie pop-rock through powerful vocals and poetic lyrics. The song serves as a pre-release single for her upcoming debut EP, Coffee and Cigarettes.
