BEARDS is a half-hour television series based on real-life experiences of coming out and coming of age.
A delightfully uncomfortable dramady, the story is a love letter to the relationships, awkwardness,
and growing pains that helped us become who we are today.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are currently shooting our award-winning pilot as a proof-of-concept in hopes of bringing our series to life. Our team is 100% queer-identifying and is almost all women or non-binary.
This project is completely independently produced and is made possible thanks to generous contributions from our community.

If you’d like to support women and queer stories, please consider making a donation.

When Lucy’s boyfriend, Casey, comes out to her as bisexual, she makes it her mission to be the most perfect, understanding, and supportive partner in an attempt to keep him at all costs - and in doing so, ignites her own sexual awakening.

MEET THE TEAM

Lucia Towers

CO-CREATOR, “LUCY”

Lucia Towers is an actor, photographer, and screenwriter who studied theatre at the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts. She credits everything she knows about acting to doing theatre for nearly 20 years. Lucia has appeared in many LGBTQ+ web series including TWENTY, THE LESLIE, and GAL PALS. As well as appearing in the yet-to-be-released queer musical comedy GROOVY TUESDAYS. BEARDS is the autobiographical story about Lucia and her ex-boyfriend turned best friend. She hopes that sharing her story will help normalize stories like these in a fun, nuanced way.

Katy Erin

CO-CREATOR, DIRECTOR

As a writer, Katy’s accolades include being the Overall Winner of the Launchpad Feature Competition, a Winner of the WeScreenplay Short Script contest, “Best of the Year” at the SciFi Screenplay Festival of Toronto, and many others. Recently, she directed the pilot of the musical comedy GROOVY TUESDAYS and starred in the feature film MILLENNIUM BUGS. She’s appeared in shows such as SHAMELESS and THE LINCOLN LAWYER, but is perhaps best known for playing “Edison” in the hit LGBTQ+ series GAL PALS.

Nicole Ledoux

PRODUCER

Nicole is an actor, producer, and writer. Her passion for production began when she produced her very own pilot, GROOVY TUESDAYS, which she co-wrote and starred in. Since then, she's made it her mission to make films written by queer artists with primarily LGBTQ+ teams. She is adamant about making sure that LGBTQ stories are being told by the people who understand them most. Her most recent production work can be seen in the pilot of DAY JOBS and the short film PIERCING.
